Serbian Society of Autism is an umbrella organisation that ensures effective liaison among 16 local member associations of parents of persons with autism in Serbia. SSA plays a key role in raising public awareness and in influencing Serbian decision-makers on all issues relating to autism, including the promotion of the rights of people with autism. Its main objective is to advance the rights of persons with autism and their families and to help them improve quality of their life.
This is achieved through:
– Representing persons with autism towards all Government ant other relevant institutions
– Promoting awareness on the appropriate care, education, and well-being of persons with autism
– Promoting the exchange of information, good practices and experience.
SSA is a non-profit civil society organization, founded by group of parents in 1977. To this day, parents volunteers remain the main driving force of the Society, with valuable support of the Team of Experts which consists of renowned professionals from different field of expertize (health, education, social care).
